PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compound eye camera which generates an image having an expanded viewing angle, and measures distance of an object with a viewing angle nearly equal to that of a camera image from the camera image, and to provide camera application equipment which attains a new functions, is low-cost and has high performance. SOLUTION: A wide image with a visual field of 2αis generated and the distance is measured by arranging two cameras a, b with the same horizontal view angleαin such a manner that the optical axes of the cameras a, b cross each other at the same angleαas a horizontal view angleαon a plane including the lens centers of the two cameras a, b, and by compositing images. Furthermore, in the case of a four-eye camera which is similarly arranged, a picture with a visual field of 2βis generated also in the vertical direction, and a distance measurement range is also similarly expanded. In addition, an image information data amount of transmission and recording is reduced, and at the same time storage of things left behind and place finding game, etc. are played by storing a background image to record change of background by a moving object/person extraction part, body type information of the person is left as growth record from motion start part information, and a function such as grading of dance, etc. is provided from comparison with motion information of a teacher.
