Provided are an acyl-CoA synthetase homolog protein of a Mortierella microorganism and a polynucleotide that encodes the same. Also provided is a method for producing, for example, a polynucleotide that contains a Mortierella alpina acyl-CoA synthetase homolog gene, a polynucleotide that encodes an acyl-CoA synthetase homolog protein, an expression vector and transformant that contain the polynucleotides, and a lipid or fatty acid that uses the transformant. Further provided is a food product that contains the lipid or fatty acid produced by such a production method. |
