<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To transmit a more detailed image if a transmission rate is higher, and to quickly transmit significant information that corresponds to an object, such as observation and monitoring while preventing a time difference from imaging to reception from being made long if the transmission rate is at a lower speed. <P>SOLUTION: This image transmission system includes a mobile object (a) and a ground device b, and includes a transmission line setting means for setting a transmission line from among a plurality of transmission lines of transmission rates 1(low), 2(intermediate) and 3(high).
