A single-sided single-layer blu-ray disc and a method for manufacturing a read-only single-sided single-layer blu-ray disc and a recordable single-sided single-layer blu-ray disc are provided. The single-sided single-layer blu-ray disc includes a paper layer (1), a buffer layer (3), a recording layer (4), a totally reflecting layer (5), a hard protective layer (6) and a waterproof layer (7), the paper layer (1) contains the first surface and the second surface opposite to each other, the buffer layer (3) is provided on the first surface of the paper layer (1), the recording layer (4) is provided on the buffer layer (3), the totally reflecting layer (5) is provided on the recording layer (4), the hard protective layer (6) is provided on the totally reflecting layer (5), and the waterproof layer (7) is provided on the second surface of the paper layer (1). The plastic injection machine is not necessary when the substrate of the blu-ray disc is produced by the paper layer, so the energy consumed by the plastic injection machine is greatly saved and the wastage of resources is reduced. Moreover, when the blu-ray disc produced by the substrate of paper material is destroyed, cutting it into pieces will be all right, so it is easy to destroy and the environment will not be vitiated.
