PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetization force adjusting device for a permanent electromagnetic magnet chuck capable of properly setting a magnetization force according to the lowness the rigidity of a work in the area of low magnetization force. SOLUTION: A magnetization force adjusting switch 27 is connected to the CPU 22 of a control unit 21. A pattern storage area is provided to a ROM 23, and a magnetization voltage regulating pattern suitable for the plurality of types of the magnetic chucks is stored in the area. A pattern selector switch 41 is connected to the CPU 22. By the switch 41, an appropriate magnetization voltage regulating pattern is selected from among the plurality of magnetization voltage regulating patterns according to the types of the magnetic chucks. Since the rate of change of the magnetization force is increased in direct ratio in the area of low magnetization force, the magnetization force can be properly adjusted in multiple stages.
