PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem in conventional refrigerators where since an illumination is repeatedly turned on and off whenever a door of the refrigerator is opened and closed, illumination quality is deteriorated and lighting time is lengthened, resulting in increasing power consumption when the door is opened and closed. SOLUTION: In the refrigerator, when the door of the refrigerator is closed, regarding the illuminating an illuminating device using a mounting substrate where light-emitting diodes are mounted, the light-emitting diodes continue to be turned off and after a predetermined time passes, be turned on when a door opening/closing detection means detects that the door is opened.
