PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water heater capable of more effectively utilizing hot water remaining in piping and heat remaining in a combustion chamber and achieving higher heat efficiency than a conventional one. SOLUTION: In the water heater, a solenoid valve to supply hot water to a bathtub is opened (S135), when a prescribed time is passed (S125:YES) after hot water supply combustion is stopped (S120). Thus the hot water remaining in a heat exchanger and a hot water supply passage, and hot water heated in the heat exchanger by the remaining heat in an inner drum are allowed to fall into the bathtub. When an estimated time to allow all of the hot water heated by the remaining hot water and remaining heat completely to fall, is passed (S140:YES), the water heater closes the solenoid valve for hot water supply (S155). Accordingly, heat energy held by the remaining hot water and remaining heat in the water heater can be effectively utilized in the bathtub. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
