PURPOSE: A bumper unit for a vehicle is provided to improve shock absorbing properties by optimizing the shape and thickness of a shock absorbing member. CONSTITUTION: A bumper unit for a vehicle comprises a bumper beam(1), a shock absorbing member, and a bumper cover. The bumper beam is arranged on the front and rear of a vehicle in the width direction of the vehicle and are installed in side members through stays(3). The shock absorbing member is installed in the front of the bumper beam to absorb shock and is composed of a C-shaped steel plate material(5). The bumper cover covers the bumper beam and the shock absorbing member.
