PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vapor deposition source for forming a high-purity organic compound layer. SOLUTION: A method of refining an organic compound includes: a step of connecting a plurality of crucibles each containing an organic compound of solid phase; a step of heating the organic compound to generate a fusion zone; a step of moving the fusion zone, thereby, moving impurities; and a step of using the crucible containing the refined organic compound, among the plurality of crucibles.
