<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily exchange a dust-proof filter of an optical modulation element in an image projection device. <P>SOLUTION: The image projection device includes a translucent substrate 63 arranged to face the optical modulation element 61G and transmits light from a light source, a film type optical element 62G stuck on the translucent substrate, and a cover member 70 for covering the space between the optical modulation element and translucent substrate. The cover member has openings 70A and 70B for making air for cooling the optical modulation element flow into or out of the space, and dust-proof filters 71 for covering the openings are detachably attached to the cover member.
