PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric shaver which can efficiently raise hair while restraining an influence on a skin surface. SOLUTION: The electric shaver has a body 3 which a user grasps, an outer blade 11 arranged at the end of the body 3, and an inner blade 13 arranged in the inward of the outer blade 11 and moving backward and forward along the outer blade 11 in the longitudinal direction. Hair raising portions butting against hair and raising the hair when the outer blade 11 moves over the skin surface are provided in the longitudinal bars 33 of the outer blade 11, and a hair raising force to raise the hair in the part of the area of the outer blade 11 where contact pressure between the outer blade 11 and the skin surface is high is set lower than the hair raising force to raise the hair in the part where the contact pressure is low.
