PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fan air speed control configuration and method for a device, which grasps heat dissipation states of units without using monitor values of the device and a sensor on a substrate, and performs efficient cooling. SOLUTION: The present invention relates to the fan air speed control configuration and method for the device, which monitors power consumptions of a plurality of units constituting the device to calculate power consumptions of the respective units in real time, reads data indicating the maximum power consumptions of the units out of the units, compares the calculated power consumptions with the maximum power consumptions to determine control over the air speed of the fan from comparison results, and cools the units at the optimum air speed.
