Disclosed is a light-emitting device (1) provided with a plurality of organic EL elements (11) that have a structure with which organic EL elements having different film thicknesses of shared layers in accordance with the type of organic EL element can be formed in a few steps. The light-emitting device includes: a support substrate; a plurality of walls (3) which have predetermined spaces in a predetermined column direction, and extend in a row direction which is a different direction from the column direction; and a plurality of organic EL elements which are respectively provided between walls adjacent in the column direction and have predetermined spaces in the row direction. The plurality of organic EL elements are classified into m types of organic EL elements, and each organic EL element has a shared layer provided to be shared by all types of organic EL elements and a pair of electrodes provided with the shared layer interposed therebetween. When viewed from one of the thickness directions of the support substrate, the areas between the walls adjacent in the column direction are set for each type of organic EL element provided between the walls, and the film thickness of the shared layer of each organic EL element is set in accordance with the areas between the walls viewed from one of the thickness directions. |
