PURPOSE: A location based information apparatus and method thereof are provided to offer necessary information without additional communication expense and to offer a necessary service in a current location of a mobile terminal. CONSTITUTION: A local communication module(132) detects a signal of an AP(Access Point). The local communication module receives server connection information from the AP. The local communication module receives service information from a server. A display unit(134) displays service information. A user input unit(133) receives the input of a user. A control unit(131) controls the operation of the local communication module.
