PURPOSE: A plant-based purifying process using a soil modifying agent is provided to grow plants absorbing heavy metal by introducing ammonium sulfate into soil contaminated with the heavy metal. CONSTITUTION: A plant-based purifying process includes the following: Ammonium sulfate is introduced into soil contaminated with heavy metal. Plants grow in order to absorb the heavy metal from the soil. Sulfuric components in the ammonium sulfate change the shape of the heavy metal in the soil. Nitrogen components in the ammonium sulfate support the growth of the plants.
