The appendage is fitted to the sidewall of a tire positioned inside the wheel rim either of the same width or by use of an adapter. An independent hermetic chamber with a flexible volume and made from a suitable material can be inflated and deflated from outside by use of a valve and allows the tread of the appendage to be in the same plane as the tire tread. The tread of the appendage comprises grippers for adhering to the road surface.
