Disclosed is an electrochemical sensor, comprising: a working electrode comprising: a sensing layer in contact with a conductive material of the electrode; a diffusion limiting membrane layer disposed over the sensing layer, wherein the membrane comprises a crosslinker and a nitrogen containing polymer which has not been quaternized with substituents and has no pendent groups; and a counter electrode in electrochemical communication with the working electrode.
