<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To exclude invasion of a foreign matter into a surgical or dental handpiece. <P>SOLUTION: A centrifugal deflection device designed to be fitted to the dental handpiece 1 includes a ring 10 coupled to rotate directly or via a tool shank 6 to a drive shaft 8 of the handpiece 1. The ring is covered with a sleeve 12 which is fixed to a front end of a body 22 of the handpiece and defines an ejection chamber 11 with the ring. The ejection chamber includes an inlet communicating with a rear area of the handpiece, and an outlet communicating with the external environment. The ring has a first diameter D1 at the outlet of the ejection chamber and a second diameter D2 at the inlet of the ejection chamber, and the first diameter is larger than the second diameter. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
