PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a subimage optical system which is compact and excellent in imaging performance and to provide optical equipment having the subimage optical system. SOLUTION: The subimage optical system 2 has an optical axis decentered from the optical axis of a finder optical system 1 in which an object image imaged on a predetermined imaging face (focal point plate 14) with an objective lens 11 is observed with an eyepiece optical system 17 via an erected image optical system (pentaprism) 16, and projects reduced image of the object on an imaging element 23.
