Disclosed is a novel cyanate ester compound which is capable of providing a cured product that has excellent heat resistance. Specifically disclosed is a cyanate ester compound which is represented by general formula (1) or (2). (In the formulae, R1 and R2 each represents an aromatic substituent having 6-10 carbon atoms or an alkyl group having 1-20 carbon atoms; Rx1 and Rx2 each independently represents a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group having 1-20 carbon atoms, an alkoxy group or a halogen; Ry1 and Ry2 each independently represents a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group having 1-20 carbon atoms, an alkoxy group or a halogen; m represents an integer of 0-4; and n represents an integer of 0-4.)
