PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means which can accurately measure activated EGFR (Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor) regardless of the occurrence of phosphorylation. SOLUTION: An antibody using the intracellular domain of EGFR as an immunogen and specifically binding to a non-modified activated EGFR, or an antigen-binding fragment thereof has been made. The antibody or the antigen-binding fragment thereof can bind to the activated EGFR in any of phosphorylation form or non-phosphorylation form. When an immunity measurement is performed with the antibody or the antigen-binding fragment thereof, the activated EGFR in a sample can more accurately be measured than by conventional methods. Since the abnormal activation of EGFR causes carcinogenesis and is a therapeutic target, the antibody or the antigen-binding fragment thereof is useful for the detection of cancer, especially also the detection of cancer which is the administration target of molecular target therapeutic agent targeting EGFR.
