<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To assure the variable speed range of a wound-rotor induction generator while supplying a reactive power according to a reactive power supply command from the power system side. <P>SOLUTION: A variable speed generator 1 includes a prime mover which generates power by using natural energy, a generator 6 having a stator equipped with a primary winding connected with a power system 2 and a rotor equipped with a secondary winding and generating electricity based on the power generated from the prime mover, and a power converter 17 connected to the stator side and the rotor side. The power converter 17 is provided with a power converter control unit 21 which does not supply reactive power to the power system 2 and increases the reactive power supplied to the power system 2 side by operating the generator 6 at the number of revolutions set equal to or higher than the synchronous speed when the reactive power supply command for increasing the reactive power supplied to the power system 2 side is acquired from the power system 2 side. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
