PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radar device improved in tracking performance, and a method of processing radar signals. SOLUTION: Radar signals are transmitted and received by an antenna 20. On the basis of reception signals received by the antenna 20, a prescribed search area is searched by a target detector 40 to detect a target. A tracking process is performed by a tracking processor 50 for tracking the target detected by the target detector 40. By a radar controller 10, a searching of the search area by the target detector 40 is controlled. By a radar controller 10, the search area is divided into a plurality of areas in an direction of azimuth to further divide each of the areas in a distance direction, thereby producing a plurality of divided areas so that adjoining division areas partly overlap with each other.
