PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for melting and feeding a metal material, in which melting-feeding cycle is shortened by reducing a melting time of a metal material. SOLUTION: In the method for melting and feeding a metal material 2, the metal material 2 is melted by induction heating and the melted metal material 2 is fed to a casting apparatus 4. The method includes: a metal material feeding step S100 of feeding the metal material 2 into a melting furnace 7, in which a molten metal 3 of a prescribed amount is previously held; a melting step S110 of melting the metal material 2, which is fed into the melting furnace 7 in the metal material feeding step S100, by induction heating; and a molten metal feeding step S120 of feeding the molten metal 3 of the amount necessary for each casting in the casting apparatus 4, while leaving some amount of the molten metal 3 in the melting furnace 7.
