PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that light emitted from a sealing material side is shielded by a hygroscopic material when spraying the hygroscopic material on the sealing material in a conventional method when an EL element to emit the light from the upper face is fabricated. SOLUTION: An adhesive A105 is drawn in a shape of closed curve around a region where an EL element 102 is contained, and furthermore, an adhesive B106 is drawn in the shape of closed curve around the adhesive A105. A hygroscopic material 106 is sprayed between the adhesive A105 and the adhesive B106. By this constitution, since water that passes through the adhesive B passes through a space where the hygroscopic material 104 is sprayed before it enters an airtight space where the EL element exists, it is likely to be absorbed there.
