PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a resin composition excellent in heat-resistance, mechanical strength and foaming property, and to provide a foam obtained by expanding the resin composition. SOLUTION: The resin composition comprises a polyarylate resin (A) as a main component, and is characterized in that the value of a melt flow rate measured at a load of 2.16 kgf and a temperature of 330°C is 0.01-20 g/10 min and the ratio of (a value of a melt flow rate at a load of 13.225 kgf and a temperature of 330°C)/(a value of a melt flow rate at a load of 2.16 kgf and a temperature of 330°C) is 10-40.
