PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To develop a technology by which the forward/backward movement or the rotation of a ferrule with respect to an optical fiber is regulated until an adhesive is hardened after the optical fiber is inserted into the ferrule in an adhesion and fixing job of the optical fiber inserted into the ferrule. SOLUTION: The method of assembling the optical fiber with the ferrule includes: a fiber insertion process in which a fiber holder 10 which pinches and holds the optical fiber 1 is slid and moved on a base 21, the optical fiber 1 is inserted into the fiber hole 2a of the ferrule 2 held by a ferrule holder 22 provided on the base 21, and the sliding movement of the fiber holder 10 is regulated by an elastic engagement piece (sliding movement regulation means) 24 provided on the base 21; and an adhesion and fixing process in which the adhesive in the fiber hole of the ferrule is hardened while holding the fiber holder by an engagement holding means performed after the fiber insertion process.
