PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of further reducing power consumption. SOLUTION: An electric power management unit reads an electric power stopping condition of an electric power management target corresponding to a processing target (step S2). Information about the operation status of the electric power management target of the processing target is acquired (step S3). It is determined whether the operation status of the electric power management target satisfies the electric power stopping condition. When it is determined that the electric power stopping condition is satisfied, the electric power management unit stops power supply to the electric power management target of the processing target (step S6). When it is determined that power supply to all the electric power management targets included in a functional block is not stopped, the electric power management unit reads a changing condition of the electric power stopping condition (step S11). The electric power management unit determines whether the power supply status of the functional block satisfies the changing condition of the electric power stopping condition. When the number of the electric power management targets continuing power supply is not higher than the changing condition of the electric power stopping condition, the electric power stopping condition is changed (step S13).
