Coating material comprises a top layer (3) deformable around radii of a workpiece, e.g. a single- or multi-layer plate, foil or veneer, and a contact layer. Independent claims are also included for: (1) producing a workpiece equipped with a rounded edge and a continuous surface coating material, comprising introducing a rectilinear radii milling (2) with two directed radii into a groove base in the upper side of a preferably flat, plate-shaped workpiece blank (1), gluing the surface of the workpiece blank with the coating material at free covering of the radii milling, introducing a prism milling (5, 15) from the surface opposite to the coating material of the bottom of the workpiece blank under the radius milling, dividing the workpiece blank in two workpiece sections, finally interconnecting the two workpiece sections over the coating material, which are folded together in a direction of the lower side, gluing together the joint surfaces; and (2) the workpiece obtained by the above mentioned method, where the radii of the radii milling exhibits two tangents at the site of the subsequent contact with the respective opposite workpiece section of the workpiece blank mutually overlapping in an assembled state. |
