<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus with a display section for displaying the state of mechanism in the apparatus or the operational information in which an operator performs a work while watching the display section, and reduction in size is achieved while ensuring the working region of the operator sufficiently. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus comprises: an open/close member for opening the interior of the image forming apparatus; and a display means fixed to the opening/closing member and displaying toward the outside of the image forming apparatus, and the apparatus is arranged such that the display direction of the display means is sustained substantially in a state where the interior of the apparatus is opened by the opening/closing member.
