PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a storage water heater capable of guiding a user to efficient operation. SOLUTION: The storage water heater includes: a means for controlling boiling operation in accordance with a boiling mode set by the user out of a plurality of boiling modes in which at least one of boiling temperature and boiling hot water amount varies, when the boiling operation for heating water within the hot water storage tank by a heating means is executed to generate hot water; a means for detecting use hot water amount converted to predetermined reference hot water supply temperature; a means for determining an average use hot water amount trend which is an average trend indicating that integrated use hot water amount obtained by integrating use hot water amount is increased along with passage of time of day, based on records of predetermined numbers of past days; a means for selecting an advice with respect to the user about a hot water use state or setting of the boiling modes, based on the average use hot water amount trend and integrated use hot water amount until current time on the day; and a means for informing the user of the selected advice.
