PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a retrieval device which can more accurately retrieve a place where information desired by a user is described when retrieving a document. SOLUTION: The retrieval device includes: a first table showing the hierarchical relation of the retrieval range of retrieval object data; a second table showing the hierarchical relation of a retrieval keyword included in the retrieval object data; and a retrieval query candidate extraction part for inputting a retrieval query configured of retrieval range information showing the retrieval range of the retrieval object data and a retrieval keyword, and for outputting the candidate of the next retrieval query configured of the lower order retrieval range information to be extracted based on the input retrieval range information and the hierarchical relation shown by the first table and the lower order retrieval keyword to be extracted based on the input retrieval keyword and the hierarchical relation shown by the second table.
