<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a position management method for seamlessly obtaining the position information of a portable terminal outdoors and indoors in monitoring object regions, and for managing the position of an object person based on the movement destination of the portable terminal registered beforehand. <P>SOLUTION: A correspondence relationship between an object person who enters outdoor and indoor monitoring object regions and a portable terminal 2 is registered in a storage device 7, and the movement destination in the monitoring object region is registered in a management server 15 which is connected to a mobile communication network 12 and an indoor radio receiver 18 and manages the position of the portable terminal 2. When the position of the portable terminal 2 is outdoor, the management server 15 receives positioning information from the portable terminal 2, and when the position of the portable terminal 2 is indoor, the management server 15 receives indoor position information from the portable terminal 2.
