<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet printer which performs cleaning of two ink jet heads loaded on a head carriage before starting printing in an appropriate mode. <P>SOLUTION: The ink jet printer 1 moves, before starting printing, the head carriage 14 from a home position HP to a shift position SP, and makes a second ink jet head 13B disposed on the home position HP side, out of the first and second ink jet heads 13A, 13B, face a head cap 22 for maintenance having ink absorbing ability for cleaning. Then, the head carriage 14 is returned to the home position HP for cleaning the first ink jet head 13A facing the head cap 22 for maintenance, and then the head carriage 14 is moved to a printing region C side for starting printing. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
