PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a counting device capable of performing accurate counting by simple configurations. SOLUTION: An irradiation device 101 irradiates the side parts of a plurality of bags B with a laser beam LB from an oblique direction. Irradiation regions SRs as regions including a part of the side faces of the bags B are irradiated with the laser beam LB. Therefore, non-irradiation regions NRs between one bag B of the adjacent bags B and the other bag B are not irradiated with the laser beam LB. Therefore, when the laser beam LB is viewed in a plane, the laser beam LB is turned to be intermittent (discontinuous).
