PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the sag of several sheets inside the outermost sheet while correcting skewing of a booklet, thereby preventing the reduction of quality when processing is applied to a sagged booklet. SOLUTION: The sheet processing device includes: a conveying belt pair 920 for conveying a booklet in contact with the doubled booklet; a trailing end assister 911 for pressing a fore edge of the booklet; a tip stopper 932 for abutting on a spine of the booklet; holder 931 for holding the abutted booklet on the tip stopper 932; and a processor for applying processing to the booklet held in the holding part 931. The upper belt of the conveying belt pair 920 is provided so as to come into contact with or separate from the booklet. Before the spine of the booklet abuts on the tip stopper 932, the upper conveying belt is separated from the booklet and the booklet is conveyed by the trailing end assister 911 so that the spine of the booklet abuts on the tip stopper 932, and then the booklet is held by the holder 931.
