A sector forming part of a filter leaf has a hollow spigot 1, Fig. 1, and a part 2 with continuous upper and lower surfaces. Beyond the part 2 the upper and lower surfaces may consist of panels 3 of wedge wire 6, Fig. 2, assembled between channel members 4. The wires 6 are located, narrower face inwards, by being looped around cross-bars 7 and welded at 9 for a short distance at each end of the pair of cross-bars. Alternatively the panels may be made from plates penetrated by tapered holes. |
