<p>Provided are an image processing device, the efficiency of which can be improved by a motion prediction, and an image processing method. A macro-block having 16 × 16 elements includes blocks (B00, B10, ..., B33) each having 4 × 4 elements. If motion vector information values for the respective blocks are denoted by mv00, mv10, ..., mv33, respectively, in a warping mode, only the motion vector information values (mv00, mv30, mv03, mv33) for the blocks (B00, B30, B03, B33) at the four corners of the macro-block are added to the header of a compressed image to be transmitted to the decoding side. The other motion vector information values are calculated from the motion vector information values for the blocks (B00, B30, B03, B33) at the four corners by a linear interpolation. The invention is applicable to an image encoding device that performs encoding on the basis of, for example, the H. 264/AVC system.</p> |
