POROUS MEMBER, METHOD FOR CAUSING POROSITY, AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING THE POROUS MEMBER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a porous member that is formed without using a paste process, and a method for manufacturing the porous member.

SOLUTION: The porous member has a core layer and a porous surface layer which both comprise the same polymer feedstock, wherein the surface layer is integrally formed on the surface of the core layer with no adhesive layer therebetween. Such a porous member can be manufactured by making the surface of a polymer base material porous; specifically, the polymer base material is immersed in a solvent that can dissolve the polymer base material, and subsequently the polymer base material immersed is freeze-dried.
