PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a propulsion performance improving device for a vessel with a comparatively simple constitution, improving hull efficiency by increasing an effective wake coefficient without increasing a thrust reduction coefficient and providing a further excellent propulsion improving effect as compared with conventional propulsion performance improving devices. SOLUTION: Stern pads 14 having about 10% of a length between perpendiculars from a rear end of a stern to the front for a stern vessel model having the so-called V-type cross-sectional shape and a cross-sectional shape curved and projected from the surface of a hull are symmetrically arranged on both of a starboard side and a port side. In the conventional propulsion performance improving device in which twists to change a water flow in an opposite direction of an advancing and rotating direction of a propeller are imparted to a plurality of fins 18, 19 and 20 projected radially from the side of a bossing in front of the propeller over an upper region in addition to the stern pad 14, fins 21 and 22 are increased in also a lower region of the bossing.
