COMPOSITE MATERIAL COMPRISING UV FILTERS AND PLASMONIC PARTICLES, AND USE AS SUN SCREEN

The present application relates to a composite material that screens out ultraviolet radiation and comprises at least one plasmonic particle formed from at least one metal and at least one organic agent that screens out ultraviolet radiation, said screening agent being located inside the plasmonic particle or outside the plasmonic particle, at a sufficiently short distance from the plasmonic particle so that the absorption of the ultraviolet radiation over at least one portion of the spectrum of the screening agent is increased. The present application also relates to a method for the cosmetic treatment of skin or hair in order to protect the same against the effects of UV rays, said method involving applying an effective amount of such a composite material to the skin or hair, and to a method for photostabilizing and/or for increasing the absorption of a photoprotective agent by means of at least one plasmonic particle.
