<p>Disclosed is a backlight device, wherein the optical design of the backlight device is maintained even when an expansion of a light guiding plate or a thermal deformation of a light source circuit board occurs, by absorbing the expansion of the light guiding plate. The backlight device (24) is provided with LED circuit boards (30); LED light sources (28) arranged on the surface of the LED circuit boards (30); a light guiding plate (20) that has light entering faces (20a) at the side faces thereof, and wherein the LED light sources (28) and the light entering faces (20a) are arranged so as to face each other; a backlight chassis (22) that houses the LED circuit boards (30), the LED light sources (28), and the light guiding plate (20) therein; spacer members (25) that are arranged on the surface of the LED circuit boards (30), and that regulates the distance (W1) between the LED circuit boards (30) and the light guiding plate (20); and elastic members (19) that are arranged between the LED circuit boards (30) and the backlight chassis (22). The Young's modulus of the elastic members (19) is smaller than that of the spacer members (25).</p> |
