<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the number of changeover times of switching state by model predictive control. <P>SOLUTION: A voltage vector V(n) is output in step S10, and prediction currents ide(n+2) and idq(n+2) are computed assuming that the number of phases in changing over the switching state from a voltage vector V(n) at this time is "1" or less for the voltage vector V(n+1) at the next time in step S14.
