METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING PLASTIC DIE STEEL WITH IMPROVED UNIFORMITY HARDNESS DISTRIBUTION AND MECHANICAL STRENGTH

PURPOSE: A method for manufacturing die steel with hardness uniformity and excellent mechanical strength is provided to secure more than 1000MPa yield strength, more than 1100MPa tensile strength, and more than 13% elongation. CONSTITUTION: A method for manufacturing die steel with hardness uniformity and excellent mechanical strength is as follows. An ingot is casted(S100). The casted ingot is heated in a furnace and is upsetted(S200). A forging material is formed by reheating and free-forging the upsetted steel material(S300). The forging material is thermally processed through normalizing, first tempering, quenching, and second tempering processes(S400).
