<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve detection accuracy of ASCII arts and to obtain positional information of the ASCII arts. <P>SOLUTION: An ASCII art detection apparatus includes: feature vector calculation parts 12, 22 for calculating feature vectors of respective lines of document data; an ASCII art containing probability calculation part 24 for calculating probabilities containing ASCII arts of respective lines of the input document data on the basis of feature vectors of respective lines of positive example data, feature vectors of respective lines of negative example data and feature vectors of respective lines of the input document data; a smoothing processing part 26 for smoothing the ASCII art containing probabilities of respective lines of the input document data by using the ASCII art containing probabilities of continuous lines; and an ASCII art containing line determination part 28 for determining lines containing ASCII arts of the input document data on the basis of the smoothed ASCII art containing probabilities of respective lines of the input document data. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
