PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain a small actuator device at low costs. SOLUTION: The actuator device 1 includes a lens holder 3 holding an objective lens 2 and a focus/tracking driving means moving the lens holder 3 in focusing and tracking directions. The focus/tracking driving means has a container 4, a magnetic fluid 5, focus coils 6a to 6d and 6A to 6D and tracking coils 7a to 7d and 7A to 7D. Driving force is applied to the lens holder 3 by selectively letting a current flow to each coil by using a current source which is not shown in the figure to apply a magnetic field to the magnetic fluid 5 to generate a current in the magnetic fluid 5.
