PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that accuracy of adjusting a fuel injection amount of a fuel injection valve 20 is deteriorated because of difference of a time interval between pilot injection and main injection and fuel temperature of the fuel injection valve 20. SOLUTION: When an engine is in idling operation as well as in a cold state, the pilot injection and the main injection are carried out by variously changing the interval to calculate a variation amount (rotational variation amount) of engine rotation speed along with combustion of each cylinder by the pilot injection and the main injection. The calculated rotational variation amount along with the combustion of each cylinder and a rotational variation deviation amount which is deviation from an average value of the rotational variation amounts with respect to all the cylinders are calculated. The calculated rotational variation deviation amount is related with cooling water temperature and the interval, and is stored in a memory of an ECU 48. An instructed injection amount of the fuel injection valve 20 with respect to each cylinder is corrected based on the stored rotational variation deviation amount. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
