PURPOSE: A method for producing titanium from titanium dioxide is provided to improve the purity of the reduced titanium metal powder by discharging nitrogen and oxygen. CONSTITUTION: A method for producing titanium from titanium dioxide is as follows. A titanium dioxide and aluminum powder are mixed after zinc chloride is added. The mixture is shaped and pressed by the pressure of 1,500~2,000 kg /cm. A reaction product is separated from alkali water solution and washed, after the mixture is heated over 700°C and reacted.
