ANTIPERSPIRANT COMPOSITIONS CONTAINING A FRAGRANCE OIL

An antiperspirant composition in the form of oil in water emulsions containing a comparatively high concentration of both an aluminium-zirconium astringent salt and fragrance oil suffers from instability during storage prior to use. Such compositions have a Fragrance Index of at least 15. Instability is ameliorated by incorporating a hydrophobically treated particulate silica, especially fumed silica to generate a Stability Index in the range of from 4 to 15.
