PURPOSE: A printing device and method forming an image using first and second printing materials are provided to form an image using first and second toner on one sheet of paper. CONSTITUTION: A first controller(102) controls a first engine. A second controller controls a second engine. An acquisition unit acquires the page of a plurality of image data for printing. A generation unit analyzes the acquired image data and creates information for second engine. A transmission unit transmits the created information for second engine to the second controller of the second engine. The second controller includes an image processor and a power controller. The power controller suppresses the power consumption of the image processor.
